Moments like these

Now clearly it's difficult for even me, "Handsome" Danny to ignore and not address the shocking turn of events that occurred at Rival Turf this past weekend. There are moments in our business that can change the future in the blink of an eye and moments that send shockwaves all around the world. We had one of these moments at Rival Turf. A shocking moment that has the potential to change the face of IPW forever. That's right, at Rival Turf...a hole was torn in my brand new tights.

Now I want to assure everyone that I have some of the best tight makers and members of the clothing alteration business working around the clock to repair the damage. My tights are made of the latest state of the art material that not only allows me to move with the grace of a gazelle but they are fabricated so they create a light weight cushion for my bottom. I'm in constant communication with my team, and they have guaranteed me that my tights will make a full recovery. Thankfully they have also worked around the clock to create me a new dynamic pair of tights that I shall adorn September 4 at Fallout. So please, rest easy your worried minds.

Rival Turf: History in the making!

No one was more disappointed than me when, earlier this month, I had to pull "The One" Vinny Dunn from his scheduled IPW New Zealand Heavyweight Championship match against Reuben de Jong at Breakdown.

OK, I'm sure Vinny was more disappointed, but you get the point.

The fact of the matter was though, that Vinny's groin injury was only 60% healed and had we gone ahead with the bout, it could have spelt disaster - the end of his career. Nobody wants to see that. Least of all "The One's" fans.

Look, Vinny and I have been friends for many years (although it's fair to say that friendship is somewhat strained now that I'm in my role as Commissioner). There is just no way that I could've been responsible for putting him in unnecessary danger, no matter how much he, or the fans, wanted the match.

Slippery when wet

Did you hear the news? “Handsome” Danny’s favourite band, Bon Jovi is coming to town!

Keeping that exciting news in mind, I thought I’d offer up some of the latest IPW gossip but forgive me if I get distracted and think of my fav New Jersey rockers as I bring you some unique insight into what’s happening in the land of IPW.

One of the greatest tracks ever to me is “Living On a Prayer” and I’m certain PANATA are putting their hands together right now, praying that they survive their upcoming Street Fight with “The Professional” Joseph Kinkade and Mischa Ivanoff.

Talk in the locker room is that Pirate Burns and Liam Fury may have backed themselves into a corner on this one, I’m not sure if they know just how dangerous Kinkade and Ivanoff can be. At one of my exclusive invite-only summer BBQ Handsome fests, Mr Kinkade butchered an entire lambs carcass in preparation for grilling, and he didn’t use a knife. Ever seen a man from the country of kings eat an entire lamb? I did this one time and it was spectacular.

Heating up the Tag Team Division
Jun 04, 2010 at 10:30 PM

It was a proud day for me when, on April 17 in front of a sell out crowd in Papatoetoe, we crowned the first ever IPW New Zealand Tag Team Champions. It was the culmination of a lot of hard work behind the scenes, and even more hard work in the ring by the great Tag Teams of Impact Pro Wrestling.

Pirates and Ninjas are Totally Awesome (PANATA) are such deserving first holders of the Championship. After winning 2009's highly successful "Top Tag Team Tournament", the pair overcame the odds to win that historical Tag Team Battle Royal at Extreme Measures to become our first ever Tag Champs.

The two have been, beyond any shadow of a doubt, the very best Tag Team in New Zealand today. Maybe ever. Their mix of high flying ability (through Ninja Fury) and raw ground and pound (through Pirate Burns) make them not only the most popular team in the country, but arguably the most dangerous.

But The Professional Standard (Joseph Kinkade & Mischa) and their manager "Mr 100%" Gary O. Davis will no doubt disagree.
