Redemption : Knox retains but fails to reclaim!
Monday July 20, 2009

At IPW Redemption “The Deal” Dal Knox won the battle and retained his IPW New Zealand Heavyweight Championship when he locked in the Fort Knox and forced “The Ex-Patriot” Alfred Valentine to tap out, but it was Valentine who came out in front in the war when Knox discovered he’d been deceived and the IPW New Zealand Heavyweight Championship belt remained in the hands of Alfred Valentine!

Valentine quickly demonstrated that he was going to try and outsmart Knox, luring the champ outside.  Flagboy attempted interference on the outside but it was quickly quashed by Knox, who continued to chase Valentine.

Knox headed back inside while Valentine vacillated on the ring apron, but Knox, never one to be patient, hit a baseball slide through his opponents legs then pulled them out from under him, smashing Valentine’s head into the ring apron.

The champ then proceeded to pulverise Valentine from pillar to post, but a mistake gave the challenger the opening he needed to get in some offence, and like a shark after blood, Valentine went for Knox aiming to do as much damage as possible.

He repeatedly pulverised the back of the champ against the turnbuckle and a brutal backbreaker for two furthered the damage already done to Knox’s back.  Knox hit back with a huge back body drop and then wishboned Valentine’s groin.

Knox lifted Valentine to his shoulders, but the challenger was quick to wiggle his way free and then locked in the Vordermann Crab.  He broke the hold and then hit Knox with the Valentine’s Day Gift, putting Knox down on the canvas.

While the champ lay stunned, Valentine climbed the ropes but then missed with the 450 Splash.  Knox seized the opening and went for the Knox Out, but Valentine once again evaded the move, but he wasn’t so lucky a second later as Knox cinched in the Fort Knox and forced Alfred Valentine to tap out!

Post-match: Knox picked up the suitcase that Alfred Valentine had claimed the IPW New Zealand Championship, but when Knox eagerly opened the suitcase it was to severe disappointment as it revealed he had been tricked by Valentine.  “Handsome” Danny Jacobs made his way to the ring, mocking Dal Knox, who shut him up with the Knox Out!
