In the double-ring Capture the Flag spectacular main event at Rival Turf it was Team NZ who eventually got the best of Team Switzerland, claiming their flag as well as defending their own when “The Deal” Dal Knox grasped the team Switzerland flag and planted it with his own to take the victory!
Flagboy was launched at Team NZ like a missile, but they caught him and sent him projectile-style back at Team Switzerland, knocking them all down, and from there on in it was a wild melee with bodies flying everywhere!
“The Deal” Dal Knox and “The Ex-Patriot” Alfred Valentine brawled out through the crowd, Knox’s focus unwaveringly on his arch-nemesis Valentine, rather than the opposition’s flag.
In the end Dils Deluxeo laid waste to Team Switzerland, but Jon E. King took out Dils with the Silencer Superkick. “The One” Vinny Dunn then knocked down Valentine and King with a double clothesline, and with everyone down and out in the ring, Knox seized the advantage and the opposition’s flag and planted it in his corner to take the victory for Team NZ!
Post-match, Vinny Dunn and Joseph Kinkade faced off, setting their match for Nightmare Before Xmas, Fan’s Bring the Weapons!
Also, “The Professional” Joseph Kinkade accompanied by Gary O. Davis and Mischa Ivanoff successfully defended his IPW New Zealand Heavyweight Championship against Xtreme Superstar “Double D” Davey Deluxeo in a best Two out of Three falls match!
DD went in for quick pins for one, but was then tripped by Mischa at ringside. Kinkade attempted to attach himself from behind, but after a whirling grapple Deluxeo rolled through and got a quick pin for three to take the first fall in the match.
Kinkade grappled his way to the advantage but it wasn’t long before DD turned it around, controlling and wrenching the arm of the champ. DD attempted another roll through, but Kinkade countered and attempted to lock in the Stretch Muffler.
DD evaded and went up top, but JK ducked out of the way and used Deluxeo’s momentum to get the pin to claim the second fall in the match, making it one a piece.
Kinkade hit Megan-Kate Deluxeo, enraging her brother and as Kinkade and Deluxeo brawled to the outside the ref was knocked unconscious. The number’s game them came into play as the champion’s trio worked together to double team Deluxeo.
The match spilled back outside, where Deluxeo was pulverised with the ring barrier. The Xtreme Superstar battled his way back and dragged Kinkade back to the ring the hard way and climbed to the top, taking the champ down with a Superplex, the ref was still down and out, so DD’s pin went uncounted.
The pair climbed to their feet trading blows, with DD breaking the flow with an atomic drop. The champ came back at the challenger and locked in a Sleeper. Deluxeo broke his way free then locked in a Sleeper of his own.
A second ref entered the ring and seeing Deluxeo had locked in a choke, called for him to break the hold. Deluxeo didn’t break the hold despite Kinkade’s tapping so the ref called the match, giving the victory to Joseph Kinkade by disqualification, retaining the IPW New Zealand Heavyweight Championship at Rival Turf!
